I chose a position at Northrop because of the career opportunities that exist within the company. When searching for a job, a key factor was whether or not I could see myself working at the company 10, 20 or 30 years down the road. Without a doubt, I can see myself at Northrop in the future. The variety of positions, opportunities for advancement, and challenges that exist in the defense business all positively influenced my employment decision.
The new hire orientation gave me the chance to meet other coworkers whom I would not typically deal with on a day-to-day basis. It gave me the opportunity to ask them questions about what brought them to Northrop, what skills are necessary for their field, and what experiences they’ve had with other companies and with the federal government. Because I’m still trying to determine what career path to take, this allowed me to get information from people who had done the work and who had honest feedback. Also, the orientation introduced me to sectors of Northrop that I had not made the effort to learn much about. It, again, showed me how many opportunities Northrop Grumman provides, and the company’s diversity.
I’m currently working as an implementation specialist for the eTravel program.
