Internships
An internship with Northrop Grumman can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your college years - and a great way to get a headstart on your career after college. Each sector of our company treats internships somewhat differently. Internship Eligibility
Most placements involve students in their junior or senior years,
or in graduate-level programs, though we sometimes do consider freshman
or sophomores with particularly strong backgrounds who have exhibited
a strong interest in Northrop Grumman programs or technologies.
Assignments
The department or functional group to which the intern is assigned
develops an internship plan, taking into account the intern's academic
background, interests and other needs. In many cases, the intern
will work with an experienced/senior employee, who will provide
guidance and assistance on a specific project or task. In other
cases, interns work independently on a specific problem or effort
with staff oversight and assistance.
Interns receive feedback on an ongoing basis, and usually receive
a formal evaluation at the end of their internship. The majority
of Northrop Grumman internship opportunities occur during the summer
months (May through August). Part-time internships and co-ops during
the school year typically occur as an extension of a summer assignment
or as a special program with a specific university. Any special
programs of this nature would be coordinated and publicized through
the university career center at that particular school.
