Northrop Grumman Information Technology Intern Job Descriptions

DD(X) C3I S/W IV&V Intern
Performs DD(X) C3I Segment full lifecycle IV&V Activities IAW
IEEE Std 1012-1998 and internal corporate standards. Evaluates processes
and products for complex Navy software systems. Creates and maintains
IV&V artifacts for all C3I Segment activities. Develops and/or
evaluates test plans and procedures for software qualification at
the unit, component and element level. This position also requires
the collection of information from DD(X) software developers and
attendance at integration events and program meetings.
Marketing and Research Intern
Supports the planning and tracking portion of the Operating Unit's
Strategic Planning Process. Assists in monitoring and coordinating
the Division inputs to the process for compilation of the composite
submission to the business unit. Must be able to apply knowledge
of Microsoft Office spreadsheet and database tools to develop tracking
tools to measure progress vs. planned milestones. Provides information
and assistance to the Strategic Planning staff. Prepares status
reports and related data. Performs related work as required.
Mission Planning, Command, Control, Intelligence, Reconnaissance
and Surveillance Intern
Develops and upgrades software for world-class Mission Planning,
Command, Control, Intelligence, Reconnaissance and Surveillance
systems for Unmanned Air Vehicles, Weapons and Treaty Support. Candidate
must possess good analytical skills and be capable of understanding
complex concepts and developing innovative solutions within large
and complex software architectures. Must also be able to interface
and work effectively with other software, systems and hardware engineers
and the customer in a teamed development and maintenance environment.
At-Sea Combat Testing Intern
Works on various projects associated with the senior technical staff
supporting the at-sea testing of combat systems. Assists in the
preparation of test execution planning and lessons learned documents.
Takes direction and review from senior technical staff as a Mentor
Relationship. Provides briefing preparation support and prepares
input to technical papers and reports. Provides administrative support
to project staff as required. Travel and participation in technical
meetings and forums with customers and technical associates may
be occasionally required.
Marketing/Business Development Intern
Supports the marketing/business development team to perform research
techniques and analyze methods of the area(s) of functionality.
Conducts special studies in conjunction with a project; analyzes
data and makes recommendations based upon studies. Will be responsible
for project assignments and research and analysis. Provides information
and assistance to the department staff. Prepares project reports
and related data. Performs other duties as required.
