This software engineer position will be a team Leader in a real time middleware software development and testing effort which supports VMS implementations for most majore aircraft platforms at Northrop Grumman The candidate will need to participate in developing software for new features, changes to existing codebase, testing, bug tracking and fixes. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with the customer to resolve problems dealing with replicating trouble reports, and determining solutions to these problems, The candidate will participate in regular user group meeting and presentations. The candidate will extract metrics and provide analysis on Experience in the following areas is required: Special Expertise areas: Soft and Hard scheduling, embedded systems, benchmarking software schedules, hardware architectures and their impact on scheduling. The ideal candidate should have basic understanding of embedded hardware/software development cycle, real time concepts and the software development cycle methods. Experience using Microsoft Visual Studios, UNIX and Linux platforms for development, strong C/C++ skills or related object language with experience and understanding of OOP/OOA/UML. Basic experience using development tools like Doors, ClearCase, MKS or RUP is required. The candidate should have experience and understanding of client/server development concepts and networking principles. Software development, system engineering or software testing. The candidate must be able to communicate status and technical expectation with the customer base and team members in the form of status reports, oral discussion and by presentation. The candidate should have experience in the basic concepts of software engineering and the development process. The candidate must be a self starter and have the ability to work independently and provide briefings to managementa regular basis. Weekly and monthly status and progress reports to management and customers will be required.
Basic Qualifications: A Masters Degree in a technical discipline preferable in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics or related engineering discipline with a minimum of 12 years of experience in a related field is required. Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Experience and Skills: Advanced doctoral degree candidates are preferred. A strong background on algorithms is desirable, with particular emphasis on embedded systems and/or real time scheduling. Knowledge of UAVs, Mission Planning and Mission Management and Avionics Hardware and Software experience.
