Position is designed to bridge the gap between the C4I and M&S working groups that plan JFCOM sponsored Exercises. The primary responsibility is to participate in the design of the M&S to C4I connectivity for assigned exercises and ensure that M&S data is accurately received and displayed on service and joint C4I systems. The position requires a working knowledge of the Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC) federation, and JTLS/JCATS models; Joint Data Network and Joint TADIL Network concepts; C4I systems in use by the US military and allies; and the communications processes used to join models to C4I. The incumbent is usually assigned to assist the Communications (C4I) working group planning the exercise and works closely with the JWFC JTTG communications planner of that working group. Other contacts include the Technical Coordinator, Joint Exercise Support Team managing the exercise and the M&S and Intelligence working group chairmen. Deliverables include inputs to Tech Test, System Test and End to End Test plans; COP and C4I architecture drawings, OPTASKCOP/ OPTASKLINK; and a post exercise summary for the technical report. Travel Requirements. Travel to Mid and Final Planning Conferences as well as COP conferences is required. Special Considerations. Shift work is required during training event execution. ? Provide liaison with the Exercise Support Teams, military customers and the supporting modeling and simulation agencies, and service C4I activities. ? Conduct analysis of the exercise directives and objectives to provide orientation and focus for exercise technical activities. ? Research and incorporate data drawn from a wide range of sources in support of doctrinal development/modification, force development data base requirements, exercise scenario and simulation development. ? Participate in the development of simulation databases, to include testing and validation. ? Review and synthesize data collected during preceding exercises to identify trends and inconsistencies to support doctrine and combat developments feedback to enhance future JWFC training support. ? In conjunction with JWFC briefers, present current situation briefs to EST, military and governmental customers, and others as required. ? Coordinate the preparation of the final exercise After Action Review products. Provide written and oral input for use in the After Action Review. ? Participate in all exercise planning conferences. Prepare written technical M&S to C4I interface drawings and documentation to support exercise objectives. ? Author M&S/C4I interface sections of test plans (Technical, Systems, and End-to-End Tests). Participate in testing events. Evaluate test results and generate final test result reports. ? Maintain currency in M&S simulation models and capabilities. ? Maintain currency in individual DOD Service C4I systems and capabilities. ? Assist USJFCOM J6 and JWFC JW500, JW600, and JW900 action officers in planning C4I activities in support of USJFCOM scheduled exercises. Required Criteria. Minimum 4-6 years experience in Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC) federation, and JTLS/JCATS models; Joint Data Network and Joint TADIL Network concepts; C4I systems in use by the US military and allies; and the communications processes used to join models to C4I. US Citizenship required and a Top Secret clearance. . Security Clearance Required.
