Posting ID:  MS/090669 Description: Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Electronic Technician 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Wallops Island, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's SCSC O&M program Roles and Responsibilities: * Maintain, troubleshoot and operate the SSD Command & Control equipments at the Surface Combat Systems Center Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) facility at Wallops Island, VA. * Assist with installation and checkout of this equipment, working with installation design documentation for combat systems to be installed in the facility. * Assist other technical personnel in preparation and review of system cable block diagrams, room arrangement drawings, cable running sheets and other designs as required for installing tactical equipment. * Following activation of system, assists with checkout, and provide regular maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment as needed. * Cross train in operations and maintenance of other tactical equipment as needed. Response to emergency situations after hours may be required. Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * High School diploma and a minimum of 6 years of related experience * Minimum six years of directly related experience in the installation, checkout, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or repair of the SSD MK2 Command & Control equipments. * Minimum six years of directly related experience in the installation, checkout, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or repair of the Q-70 display suites * Must be available for shift work * Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, including a 200' mast, lift 100%50 lbs. and work on site at the SSDS Facility, Wallops Island, VA. * Position requires a current Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: * Installation, maintenance, and repair of Navy tactical equipment in a shore-based facility * Experience with Unix/Linux operating system * Experience installing fiber optic cabling networks * Experience with the Navy 3M Maintenance system * Experience with Microsoft Office applications Relocation assistance is available.
