Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems sponsors the Engineering, Logistics & Operations Professional Development Program (EL&O PDP), a rotational assignment program for new college graduates with career interests in such engineering and manufacturing areas as: hardware design & development, software engineering, test engineering, systems engineering, applications & support engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and process engineering. The wide variety of challenging technical opportunities offered by the Program includes manufacturing & industrial engineering tasks such as: developing processes and documentation, transitioning new designs to production, creating tool designs, implementing new equipment and leading yield and other continuous improvement activities, optimizing product flow and efficiency, creating work standards, designing and executing plant layouts and construction, modelling processes and calculating needed capacity. These activites support a wide array of products which include radar, sonar, missile, electronic warfare, intelligence/surveillance/reconaissance, communications, electro-optical, and other systems. Participants on the EL&O PDP have the opportunity to participate in multiple assignments of several months' duration each in a high tech, state-of-the-art environment supporting defense/aerospace applications. EL&O PDP participants also receive extensive formal training, executive visibility, and mentoring. Most EL&O PDP openings are in Maryland locations; limited travel may also occur. Permanent placement within the organization follows completion of the rotational assignment phase; typically after 12-18 months.
Basic Qualifications:
Typical candidates will have a bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Process Engineering, or in allied majors. Overall GPA of at least 3.2/4.0 is strongly preferred. Differentiating characteristics include: internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communications skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates must be new graduate, entry-level individuals with less than one year of career work experience. Successful candidates will be subject to background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to US Government classified information. Personnel on the EMPDP are regular, full-time employees of the Corporation with full benefits plan coverage. Relocation Assistance Available. Security Clearance Required.
