This individual must have a working knowledge of how XML DTDs/schemas function in the CMS environment and be able to create new, modified, or customized DTDs/schemas. They must have a working knowledge of how XSL style sheets function in the CMS environment and be able to create new, custom style sheets. They must have a working knowledge of the standard publication processes and workflow. In addition, they must have a good understanding of how publication processes and workflow are implemented in an enterprise CMS environment. They must have a basic understanding of the essential hardware/software components involved in both a networked environment and a server-client relationship.
The Information Architect must have a basic understanding of the processes involved in the development of software application design and development and must be able to effectively communicate with the software developers responsible for creating applicable customized applications. The IA must have a basic understanding of the processes involved in the development of enterprise level database structures. This understanding must be sufficient to enable the IA to effectively communicate with database developers responsible for supporting the content management data repositories.
Basic Qualifications
B.S. or equivalent, 1-3 years experience in publications development and content management implementation or administration. 1-3 years experience in information architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge in XML development, DTD development, information schemas (DITA in particular)

Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.
