Description:
This high visibility position requires a motivated, self-starter with an engineering background and background in most mechanism type products (bearings, actuators, motors, harmonic drives and resolvers). The successful individual will need management skills to drive successful execution of Sensors, Mechanisms and Waveguide procurement activities for the Global Supply Chain division. Tasks include, but are not limited to: continuous proactive review and improvement of internal processes and supplier performance; collaborate and provide customers with innovative, cost saving solutions; coordinate and drive multi-disciplinary (engineering and M&P) tasks for rapid issue resolution and complete Commodity Engineering tasks for programs (PID generation/closure, support CDR, MRR, etc). The preferred candidate will understand the internal customer community and be able to effectively interface with design engineering, manufacturing, M&P and the supply base to establish requirements and controls to optimize procurement activities. Effective interpersonal skills in matrix and non-matrix based functional environments are required.
Required Skills:
Engineering background preferred (BS in ME, EE or Materials minimum) with direct experience in both design and manufacturing of related mechanisms for space applications. SSBI or ability to get clearance required with minimum 10 years experience required. Working knowledge of the Commodity Engineering Organization and NGAS policies and procedures is required. Final position grade is dependent upon experience.
