Ø Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy "C" School or vocational school with formal training in the field of electronic equipment maintenance. Ø Two years' electronic maintenance in the following areas: - Digital/analog signal processing; - Electromechanical devices; - Video signal processing and recording; - Communications (multiplexer equipment, routers, bridges, fiber-optic, data encryption equipment); - Digital computer systems; - DC power supplies; - Test equipment; - Video systems; - Low voltage AC equipment; - Primary and secondary power equipment; - Auto-transfer (UPS) equipment. Ø Two years of 36 aircraft TACTS/ACMI/CCS/ADDS/PCDS/TDS preferred. Ø Unix system and network administration experience. Ø Ability to speak, read, and write English. Operates and maintains the ADDS/PCDS/TDS equipment. Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Performs PM and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment. Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on assigned equipment. Verifies operability after maintenance actions. Documents all maintenance actions, isolates malfunctions, and assists in incorporating engineering changes. Maintains ADDS components in accordance with PM schedule, WIs, and manufacturers' manuals. Performs ADDS system and network administration. Manages ADDS workstations by installing and configuring software, administering user accounts, and managing disk usage. Performs software backups. Performs routine troubleshooting, isolates malfunctions, performs repairs to the component level. Uses complex test instruments such as pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, distortion analyzers, and computer analytical equipment. Provides technical guidance to lower-level technicians. Work typically requires detailed understanding of the interrelationships of computer operating system diagnostics and circuits. Work is reviewed by the lead technician for compliance with accepted practices. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. Assists TACTS Operations Lead or Computer Operator V in operating and maintaining CCS equipment. Assists mission coordinator/RTOs and performs SOC Operator functions when required. Receives flight data for next mission from flying squadron and inputs into SOC no less than thirty minutes prior to scheduled mission. Interacts with mission coordinator and /or squadron when data is not received in a timely manner for input into SOC for mission. Verifies all information received from the squadron is correct and is accurately reflected in the ADDS. Will be operationally qualified at designated tech level within 90 days of hiring or promotion. Cross-trained and qualified to operate at least one additional TACTS system. Security Clearance Required.
