Materials and Processes Engineer 2 Will be a technical member of the Board Area Maritime Surveillance (BAMS) Metallic Fuselage and Mechanical Subsystems IPT. Work location will be at the Strike and Surveillance Systems Division in Rancho Bernardo, CA. Responsibilities will include tasks associated with Corrosion Control; Non-Destructive Inspection; Material Selections; Metallic Material Allowables; First Article Destructive Testing; Fracture Toughness Testing; Finishes and Sealants; Drawing Review/Signoff; Creation of Supplier Statements of Work (SOWs); Creation of Test Plans/Reports and Coordination of Test Lab Activities; Creation/Release of CDRLs; Support of Production Activities in Moss Point, MS and Palmdale, CA; Coordination with Customer and Component Suppliers; Standard Drawing Notes; Standard Parts; Fracture Critical Part Control; Dissimilar Material Control, General Aircraft Manufacturing Processes, Creation/Review of Process and Material Specifications; etc BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Position requires Bachelors degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Material Science or Aero Engineering with 2 years minimum related experience. Candidates must possess excellent communication, presentation, writing and people skills. Ability to obtain DOD Secret Clearance is required. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous military aircraft materials and processes experience is a plus. Experience with CATIA V-5 and Team Center database manager is also a plus.
