Description:
Designs and develops technical solutions relating to optical fabrication and component applications in the areas of precision polishing, grinding, and shaping. Responsible for the research, design, and development of optical fabrication technology, processes, and related tooling. Responsible for design of tooling and fixturing used in optical fabrication and related processes. Coordinates a variety of research and testing for development of standard (or production) processes. Determines cause and corrective procedures for failed processes. Oversees the formulation of process instructions and procedures. Prepares cost estimations and works with customers to resolve technical problems. Determines equipment manufacturing capability and recommends equipment upgrades, modifications, and improvements. Acts in a self-directed manner to implement improvements to gain efficiencies manufacturing laser crystal products.
Education / Experience/Skills Required: B.S degree in Engineering or scientific discipline. Excellent communication skills required. Manufacturing experience in a related field is preferred.
