Description:
Functional Manager for Data Systems and Instrumentation Design Department. Must demonstrate leadership, knowledge and expertise working on conceptual designs, planning, analysis, detailed design, integration and operation of complex flight test, ground test and laboratory test systems as well as Instrumentation design for use in lab and flight test environments. The position requires occasional travel and may be based in El Segundo, Palmdale or Rancho Bernardo, CA. Basic Qualifications shall include experience with relevant data systems components including telemetry measurement/tracking systems, instrumentation wiring, transducer selection and interfacing, signal conditioning and multiplexing, amplification, digital acquisition, RF cabling techniques, antenna interfacing, transmitters/receivers, and PCM encoders/decoders. The ability to manage and provide technical leadership to an engineering team located at multiple sites working with multiple programs. This position requires a degree in EE, ME, Aero or a related engineering discipline in addition to 10 years of direct experience. An active DOD secret clearance is mandatory. Preferred experience includes electrical design, strain gage installation, mechanical design/packaging, and software development. Also, experience with data processing, data reduction, data handling, and real-time display development is preferable. Knowledge of emerging trends in the areas of instrumentation, air borne and ground based telemetry and onboard/ground recording is highly desirable. Desired engineering tool experience should include CAD (CatiaV5, UG, Pro-E, and AutoCAD 08), Visual Studio C++, Windows, Linux, Vxworks, IADS, LabVIEW, MATLAB/SIMULINK, STK, and SQL).
