Information Assurance Analyst/Computer Security Engineer (Junior) Where Technology and Teamwork come together... Northrop Grumman Information Systems (NGIS) sector is seeking a Jr. Information Assurance (IA)/Computer Security Engineer to join our team in providing global security solutions at the McLean, VA/USA location. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems Division Information Assurance practice providing support to multiple Department of Defense and Federal Agency security programs. Roles and Responsibilities: * This is an entry level position. The most important qualifications are a strong basic background in information technology, the ability to work effectively as a team member, and excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Undergraduate work in the information systems security field is desirable, but not required. * Candidates will serve as a member of the Defense Systems Division Information Assurance practice and will be assigned to both Security Engineering and Certification and Accreditation support projects. Duties will include serving as a member of a team under the guidance of a Senior IA engineer. Candidate will execute security configuration ('system hardening') and Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) procedures, using both automated support tools and manual procedures. Candidate will be required to assist in the preparation, evaluation and revision of security documentation, including security policy documents, procedural documentation, test plans and procedures and test reports. * Candidates must have thorough knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems and TCP/IP networking basics. * Candidates may also be required to install and test OS security patches and will be required to assist network and application engineers with troubleshooting IA/System Security related issues. * Candidates may also be required to assist in the development, enhancement, maintenance and documentation of software tools used to support hardening and test. * This position also will require significant travel within the continental United States. Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. * Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) and teamwork are required. * Must be able to obtain a Security+ certification within 90 days of hire date. * Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a Department of Defense security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: * Desired experience with information technology projects * Proficiency with MS Office Suite * Position prefers a candidate with a current DoD Secret Security Clearance Position is funded.
