Composite Mechanic
Our composite mechanics are responsible for the fabrication of composite panels and components from blueprints and/or engineering documents. They are capable of assisting or performing core assembly and vertical infusion layout and processes and performing various levels of infusion to include Vertical, Advanced, Two-Sided and Multi Stage Vertical (VARTM).
Typical qualifications that may be necessary to secure employment as a composite mechanic include:
- Two or more years experience in utilizing power tools such as sanders, jig and skill saw, and identify different composite tools such as hose cutters, recycle pressure pots, spring lines and various types of tapes (tacky and double sided)
- Candidates should be capable of performing fiberglass material cutting, layout of flow medium and sewing skills for spring material and flow medium
- Candidates should also be familiar with the operation of an aerial platform and a forklift
