Health Research Analyst
As a Health Research Analyst at Northrop Grumman your skills are often used to provide expert advice and technical guidance to public health program officials on procedures, programs and policies related to chronic disease risk factor surveillance.
Analysts typically are heavily involved in the analysis, interpretation, and use of collected data, the analysis and reporting of findings, and review of proposed recommendations and procedures. They provide critical day-to-day input in the technical and scientific planning, and management of community-based behavioral surveillance programs. In many situations Health Research Analysts are relied on to advise State programs concerning the analysis, interpretation, and use of data to prevent adverse outcomes and secondary conditions resulting from chronic disease. This includes having the opportunity to participate in the planning and development of health promotion and disease prevention program strategies.

- Scientific Data Analyst
- Masters degree in Public Health or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience designing and conducting research involving public health issues
- Analyzing, interpreting, data to reduce problems related to chronic disease behavioral risks factors or disability
- Developing and evaluating surveillance and data collection activities; and the role of scientific findings and publications in public health
- Experience writing/modifying SAS programs is required
- Ability to effectively plan and monitor the status of projects
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- A sound scientific background and the ability to effectively communicate with State program officials, Branch staff, and in professional meetings is required
- Interpersonal skill is required to develop and maintain constructive relationships that will enhance technical consultations and the successful completion of projects
- Written communication skill is required for a variety of programmatic documents including guidelines for use by States
